So I get about 400 emails a day (no exaggeration...I have a crazy job) and I'm having a hard time keeping up with family and the Joneses. So...I've decided to join 'em instead of beating 'em, by creating a blog for our family. This way my mother can keep tabs on me and hopefully the police will not show up on my doorstep because I haven't checked in with her enough! Mom, we're all doing fine...just read along! (No joke...she once called the police on me when I didn't call her to check in one weekend.)
One Sunday afternoon...a knock at the door...I go and open it...
Policeman #1:"Uh...Mickey? Are you Mickey?"
Me (Sheepishly): "Yes? Yes, I'm Mickey?!"
Policeman #2: "Ma'am, were you supposed to call your mother this weekend?"
Me (Embarrassed): "What? My Mother? Uhm, yes, I guess so...?"
Policeman #1: "Well Ma'am, your mother is worried because she hasn't heard from you in a few days. She called our station and asked us to come knock on your door to see if you are alright. Is everything ok? Is there anything we can do for you?"
Me (Mortified): "You know, I'm fine...it's just been a hectic week...I will go and call her just as soon as I close the door..."
YOWZAH! I'll never live that down! Love you, Mom!
